“Excuse me, I need to borrow your title.”
That was “Grand Theft Auto IV” talking to “Halo 3″ last week. “Halo 3″ had been driving the title of biggest entertainment launch of all time since its debut last fall. “GTA IV” jacked it with opening-week sales — April 29 to May 6 — topping $500 million globally. “Halo 3,” which was released only for the Microsoft Xbox 360, chalked up $310 million globally after its first week on the market. |

It must be noted, however, that GTA was released for both the PS3 and 360 while Halo 3 was just on the 360. There were more customers who had the ability to play GTA then there were for Halo3.
What I want to see is a first week sales chart comparing the sales of Halo to the sales of GTA on just the 360 to even out the competition by evening out the number of possible customers.

Thing is GTA4 was released on PS3 and 360, while halo was just on the 360.
